That’s a menacing Olds you’ve got there. I love it! What are your plans?

Brakes, tires, suspension bushings and drive it... The interior is in pretty good shape, especially being an all-original ‘65, and the drivetrain is in amazing shape.
I’m waiting to put the fender skirt back on the left rear, until after I put new tires all the way around, and the hubcaps will go on at that point, too. (They’re in the trunk, at the moment.)

Sweet!
You may want to consider a dual circuit master cylinder too. That’s a big beast, you sure don’t want to lose all the brakes at once if something blows.

I love 98’s. Owned 2 of them. Every bit as nice as a Buick and Cattletruck, IMO.
425 or 455?

It’s the high compression 425.

Who in their right mind would buy a fucking Lincoln, when GM and Chrysler both made way, way better full-size cars?
Seriously... The only full-size cars I like better than the 5th gen Olds 98 are the early-70s Imperial LeBaron and the mid-70s Cadillac Fleetwood Talisman.

Fact: the ‘64-’66 Imperial was better in every single way than the period Continental (and Cadillacs, don’t tell nobody though) just like every Cadillac that wasn’t those years is better than everything else.
Also idk why Ford always gets all the love on here. They aren’t as inherently cool as Mopars, or as innovative as GM, and whenever either of those two made some ridiculous powerful engine back in the day, it would always be Ford who made a stink until racing officials banned the motors.

Yeah, but I can live with it. It might get repaired, it might just get ignored. Not sure, yet.

Counterpoint: I don’t know what your definition of “inherently cool” is, but this was $2500 and has stacked headlights and kickass Coke-bottle rear haunches. Plus I can use cheap Mustang parts to hot rod it. Not to say I don’t like a big Mopar or mid 60’s Caddys because I fucking well do, but I grew up in a “Ford family” so this suits me fine.
That said, when I saw this come up on local Craigslist recently I about shat myself:
